Mt 17:15 “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water.
Mt 17:16 I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.”
Mt 17:17 “O unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.”
Mt 17:18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment.
Mt 17:19 Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn't’t we drive it out?”
Mt 17:20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.’”

My friend had given me a mustard seed necklace. The pendant is a clear ball and it has a mustard seed inside of it. If you have never seen the size of a mustard seed, I encourage you to check them out. They are soooo small. It clicked with me today that Jesus had been with his disciples for all of that time, and He basically said that they did not have Faith the size of a mustard seed yet. Imagine all of the things that they witnessed with their own eyes, and they still did not believe. I plan to research this, but if I am remembering correctly, none of them had received the Holy Spirit until Pentecost, which was after Christ was crucified. They would not have received this gift however if they had not waited in Jerusalem after Jesus had gone back up to Heaven, like He told them to. He did not tell them how long they had to stay there, or how it would happen. He just said go there and stay there (WAIT). They did not realize that this "Gift" would be the very thing they needed, to cast those demons out for others in the future. The Gift of The Holy Spirit. Every time we are obedient to the Lord, we will see fruit that will fuel our Faith. it may not be right away, but it will happen. It is not a good thing to rush ahead when we have been instructed to wait, and it will just make our "waiting" that much longer if we do, because we will usually mess up things that will need to be straightened out later. If you feel as if you are in a "holding-pattern", wait on God to tell you to move. You will know just as they did, when it is time, and you will know what it is time for.

"Be still before the Lord and WAIT patiently for Him..." Psalm 37:7
ReplyDelete"I WAITed patiently before the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry." Psalms 40:1
Looks as though in your own waiting, you are taking steps of obedience on a path that He has chosen for you. Physically we can only take one step at a time and everytime you blog, consider a step taken. The Lord our God is using you to advance His kingdom....Your profile ends with this statement "I am WAITing for Him to direct my steps and tell me to go." You have WAITed now you are ACTing...
Keep up the good word for Him Faithful servant...Your sister in Christ...
